The Castello di Pavone, built between the 9th and 14th century, is a magnificent medieval castle that dominates the medieval town of Pavone Canavese (located ~49 Km north of Turin) thereby offering a panorama of great beauty. The Castle powerful walls protect its marvellous Noble Courtyard with the suggestive Fountain of the Mysteries, the rooms and the halls of incommensurable beauty, a delightful garden, and the Romanic S. Pietro church, which still has two ancestral Roman tombs of the 4th and 5th centuries. The Castle was property of different families in its history, among them we mention the Otto dynasty, King Arduin, and the House of Savoy. Important restorations were made by Alfredo d'Andrade (Lisbon, Portugal, 1839 – Genova, Italy, 1915), from 1885 till 1915. It is considered a lucky Castle thanks to its history; someone says that it transmits luck, love and prosperity to all those who stays there, even for a short period.
